The Alioth Release

About 24 hours from now (May 13, ~00:00 UTC) two new updates will be added to the protocol. During this release, which is expected to take up to several hours, SNX and synth tokens will not be transferable. Here's what’s included in this release:

  • SIP-112: ETH wrapper — This SIP will allow users to wrap ETH or WETH in exchange for sETH, enabling even greater flexibility for users to expand the supply of synths, meet the market’s demand for synths, and help synths maintain their pegs.
  • SIP-136: Improve debt cache total issued synths calculation — This SIP implements a new method for debt pool / debt cache calculation of total issued synths backed by SNX stakers as well as those backed by other types of collateral.
