Synthetix Steps into the Ring - First Athletic Sponsorship
Synthetix is stepping into the ring with its newest Spartan, Linn Sandstrom, an Australian female boxer with a story of her own to tell. We’re sponsoring @SandstromBoxer, in her fight for the WBC Australasia Title.
Linn wasn’t always a Boxer. She started her athletic career playing professional table tennis in Sweden and recently transitioned into Boxing. Synthetix is familiar with pivots and as many of our community members know, transitioned from Havven, a stable-coin protocol, into the derivatives liquidity protocol that countless traders call home today. Linn, like Synthetix, has worldwide ambitions and expects to one day be on the biggest stage at Madison Square Garden for the world title fight.
That’s not unheard of, as two of the best in the world of women’s boxing, Katie Taylor & Amanda Serrano, sold out MSG last week. That’s never been done before. Women’s boxing is exploding right now, and we at Synthetix will be at the forefront of this with Linn.
Linn’s sponsorship is the first in what we hope will be an ongoing tradition of sponsoring ambitious underdogs looking to make a name for themselves. Follow Synthetix on Twitter to stay updated on Linn’s title ambitions and for our future Call for Spartans where we’ll look for applications from competitive traders, athletes, and gamers to join the synthetix ranks and help tell our story and theirs.
We’re taking a step here that isn’t common across DeFi, and that’s why we think it’ll pay off. It’s a bold decision that’ll help Synthetix reach people who’ve never heard of DeFi, let alone Synthetix. We know that once people learn about the vast trading ecosystem within Synthetix, they’ll never want to leave.
Don’t miss Linn's fight for the WBC Australasia title on May 11th at 8am UTC. We’ll be cheering for her and we know all of our Spartans will be cheering as well.
